Department of Political Science
Teaching Learning
The Department of Political Science employs and utilises a plethora of pedagogical tools to make learning an interactive experience. ICT Tools like smart classroom, Google Meet, Google Classroom, WhatsApp are employed in disseminating information. Lectures are conducted through power-point presentations and video based assignments, and group presentations feature in our teaching learning practices.
Experiential Learning is also promoted through regular field visits and study tours in Goa and the rest of India.
Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking through deductive method with the objective of bringing clarity, consistency and coherence.
Capacity Building
The Department of Political Science constantly strives to engage studentsin various initiatives, in pursuit of a holistic development. Some of the initiatives taken
- Talk on Fundamental Rights for SYBA students by Ms. Prajyoti Rane (LLB V.M Salgaoncar College of Law, Miramar.
- Talk on Career Opportunities in Political Science by Mr. Ashish Lal. Head of Promotions Faculty of Governance at the MIT SOG Pune in May 2022.

- The Department has also taken various initiatives in capacity building through its outreach programmes. Our students visit Higher Secondary Schools and conduct awareness sessions on the importance of Fundamental Rights of the Indian Constitution.

Short Term Certificate Course on Skills In Public Administration Course Objectives
- To expose the students to the multifarious requirements pertaining to public administration.

Society Activities
The Department of Political Science, is committed to expanding the student’s world-view. Study tours are one of the activities through which students can open themselves to many possibilities through interactions in different cultural milieus and locales. The Department has been conducting Study Tours to different parts of India including, Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh. Students are encouraged to participate in an array of social and cultural activities that instil socially sensitive values.

While carrying out this agenda, our Department has been active in various academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. One of them has been the annual Inter-College Student Parliament competition where our students have shown their enthusiastic participation and won accolades for the college.
