The Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce Library is more than just a place to borrow books; it’s a vibrant learning hub designed to inspire curiosity, support research, and cultivate a lifelong love for reading and knowledge. With a rich collection of resources, both print and digital, the library caters to the diverse academic and recreational needs of our users.
The College Library, being the centre of study, is directly or indirectly contributing towards the academic activities of the College. The total area of the Library is 591 sq. mtrs. The library has a seating capacity of 150 readers. The library subscribes to 95 periodicals and 11 Newspapers; besides that, it has around 40,000 books and reference books.
The library is a rich resource centre offering various facilities to students, Alumni and staff. Its reference collection includes Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Directories, Reports, Question papers of past years, and CDs. A large number of books on career guidance are available to students appearing in competitive examinations. Current Awareness Service through the display of new arrivals to the library will keep the reader informed about new books added to the library. The Library has a Book Bank facility for the under economic privilege students. Under this scheme, students are given textbooks for an academic year to assist their studies.
Library Hours
The library has an open access system and is open from Monday to Saturday for 7 1/2 hrs. a day without a break from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm
